Following SwitzerlandMobility route 481 from Avenches, this loop will take you along the shores of Lake Murten and Lake Neuchâtel, passing through Estavayer-le-Lac and Payerne before returning to the starting point in the gentle forests.
This looping route takes you on a discovery of the treasures of the Broy region. Starting from Avenches, you will ride along Lake Morat and its large sandy beach, before climbing through the vineyards of Vully and admiring the 360° view of the Alps and the Jura peaks. The descent to the shores of Lake Neuchâtel takes you to the Grande Cariçaie nature reserve and the town of Estavayer-le-Lac. The roads through the fields take you to Payerne and its imposing Abbey before heading through fields and forests towards the Bois de Châtel, on the heights of Avenches. The return to Avenches is through its Roman site and its remains.
As of spring 2023, bicycle racks (5 places per vehicle) will be installed on the post buses of the following routes
